While it is a long shot, “The Truth About Emanuel” has made the list of films eligible for Oscar nominations this award season.

To qualify for the 86th Academy Awards, a film must be exhibited for at least seven days in a Los Angeles County theater by the end of the year and last longer than 40 minutes.

While that may sound easy enough, it’s a struggle for a lot of Indie films to even screen in one theater theater, so I’d like to congratulate everyone over at Team Emanuel for making it this far.

If Francesca and/or the film gets a nomination from the Academy, that would be amazing but unfortunately, like any other competition, it’s a popularity contest and people have already picked who they want to see at this years ceremony. It’s not out of the question, but it’s a long shot. That’s okay, being the underdog has it’s advantages.

“The Truth About Emanuel” is available for rent on On Demand, iTunes, Amazon, and other online retailers. It makes it way to select theaters starting January 10th, 2014!

Prayer circle for Jesse / the film / Francesa tbh.
